2012 Monthly Events:
The HDGA Oahu Monthly is open to all players. No preregistration is needed for this event. HDGA recognizes Men and Women divisions in levels of Open, Amateur 1 & 2, and Recreational players. There is a $2 insurance fee for all non-members. These are TEMPORARY basket courses set up by special permit as a one round event at City or State parks, and the HDGA must carry an insurance rider for all events held at public parks. Club memberships are available which covers yearly insurance. For more information contact: Gen or Allen

The 8th HDGA Shave Ice Bowl 2012 - February 25 - Downtown Honolulu The Big Island Open 2012 Dates: Jan 20, 21, and 22 2012.

Location: Hilo Coffee Mill in Mountain View on the 20th, MacKenzie State Park on the 21st., and Waiola River Park on the 22nd. Camping is available at MacKenzie State park with a permit and at Pohiki without one.

Maui's website and registration form , or email Alan Abreu. This past HDGA event was our annual fundraiser for the Salvation Army Angel Tree. It was held on Sunday November 27th at Waimanalo Elementary, 41-1330 Kalanianaole Highway, Waimanalo, HI across from the Fire Station. We had 27 players show up and raised $708.00! We bought gifts for 16 needy people. Big Mahalo to everyone that participated. 2011 Hawaii State Championships were held on Maui November 5th and 6th at Poli Poli and Kapalua. Congrats to division winners: Adam Thompson, Steve Welck, Ricky Marrell, Paul Serverino, Ken Gardner, Karen & Parker Welck! Visit MDGA HDGA October Monthly: 4 separate rounds, 2 on October 29th and 2 on October 30th, were held at the Sand Island State Recreation Area. About 50 players participated over the 2 days. Mahalo to everyone that helped setup and tear down! THE 2011 HDGA AUGUST MONTHLY was held at Kaiaka Beach Park in Haleiwa, Sunday the 28th. Thank you to all the volunteers that helped set up and tear down!! We had 32 players: at least 4 were from the mainland and 1 originally from Japan! The 2011 July Monthly was a Fundraiser for Waimanalo Elementary School and held on their campus, Sunday 31st. 32 players attended and $480 was donated for school supplies. A huge Mahalo to all the players!!
2011 Puffin n Paradise (On Maui) April 16th and 17th (Saturday & Sunday) 2011 Shave Ice Bowl: A Fundraiser for the Hawaii Foodbank January Fund Raiser for the Military Heroes Campaign: The
fund raiser took place on Sunday, January 30 at the University of Hawaii at
Manoa. The fund raiser was co-hosted by the UH DG RIO (registered independent
organization) and the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. They were fund raising for the
Military Heroes Campaign and asking for donations of 10 dollars per person. 2011 Big Island Open: January 22nd. & 23rd. MacKenzie
State Park. To everyone who didn't make it out to the BI tourney...You REALLY
missed it this time. David Feldberg, and a few other touring pros showed up
for the event. Stay tuned for the complete results, including some nice pics
and video. We will post them shortly. 2011 Maui Open: The 2011 Maui Open was run the weekend of
January 29th & 30th, 2011. Results wil be posted shortly The 5th Annual Salvation Army Angel Tree Fund Raiser: MAHALO
to everyone who came out to support our Salvation Army Angel Tree Fund Raiser.
The event was held Sunday, December 5th 2010. Also, many thinks to the Disc
Golf Experience RIO for hosting the event at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
We raised just over $720 from our fundraiser, and were able to purchase gifts
for 10 recipients; 5 seniors and 5 children. The 10th Annual Hawaii State Disc Golf Championships: The 17th Annual Flyin Hawaiian Open: This event took place
over the weekend of October 2 & 3rd 2010. MAHALO to everyone who made this
year's FHO so successful. We will post a link to the final standings soon. Congrats
to Joe Royer for winning first place in the Men's Open division. PAST EVENTS OF SIGNIFICANCE 2010 July Monthly (A Fundraiser for Waimanalo Elementary & Intermediate
School): A big Mahalo to all the players who came out for the July
monthly. I counted 30 players! We raised $250 and HDGA put in an additional
100.00 for a total of $350.00 for school supplies for Waimanalo Elementary school.
Also, a big thanks to the Honolulu fire department, across the street from the
school who helped retrieve about 6 discs from the school roofs at the end of
the day. Results from the event will be posted shortly. Disc Golf Experience RIO: HDGA would like to say MAHALO to
Dave Grimaldo and DGERIO for hosting a great day of disc golf at the University
of Hawaii at Manoa this past weekend (April 11, 2010). Stay tuned for more DGERIO
events! The 3rd Annual Maui Brewing Co. Open: January 30th and 31st,

We will be posting a link to some video from the event soon! RIO Disc Golf Expereince Holds it's first event! A big Mahalo
to the 25 players that came out Sunday, December 10, 2009, to raise funds for
the Susan G. Komen charity!! Thanks go to Dave Grimaldo for creating the RIO
Disc Golf Experience club which made this event possible on the Manoa campus.
We predict this is the first of many DG events at UHM. A hui hou! Hauoli Makahiki
hou! The last monthly of 2009, our December monthly, was a Fundraiser for
the Angel Tree program. It was held at Maunawili Elementary School
in Kailua, on December 6th. The 9th Annual Hawaii State Championships (2009):The 9th Annual
Hawaii State Championships was held October 24th & 25th on the island of
Maui. The event was played on Maui's premier course (Poli Poli). Visit Maui's WEBSITE for more information

This event will be held February 25th from 10am to 4pm on the grounds of Honolulu Hale in downtown Honolulu. CLICK HERE for the registration form with all the details. RECENT EVENTS OF SIGNIFICANCE
This is a camping and party event! Camping Friday & Saturday night.
LOCATION: Kahakuloa (Directions: From the West Side: It's about 14 Miles past Maui Brewing Co. Turn left after the dip sign. From Kahalui, drive 15 miles past Jack in the Box. Take a Right before the dip sign.
Play Saturday and/or Sunday. $10/day, or $25 for both days. Saturday winner, and Sunday winner and overall winner. For more information, please visit Maui's website, or email Alan Abreu.
The Shave Ice bowl took place on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Ho'omaluhia
Botanical Gardens, in beautiful Kaneohe, Hawaii. We will be posting the fund
raiser results shortly, but I heard that we blew past our $1000 goal!
This event was NOT the Hawaii State Overalls as previously stated incorrectly.
The event was held on the Big Island of Hawaii, over the weekend of October
16th, & 17th.

We would like to thank all who participated. We were able to raise $300, plus
another $100 from HDGA, for a total of $400 which will go towards the purchase
of Christmas gifts for those participants in the Angel Tree program. A special
Mahalo to Pastor Justin and the Eastside Hope Chapel for their donation!

This is an annual fundraiser that HDGA coordinates with the Hawaii Foodbank
with all proceeds going to the Hawaii Foodbank. The Hawaii Foodbank & HDGA
would like to thank everyone who participated in the 2007 Hawaii Shave Ice Bowl.
Hawaii raised $1069 dollars.
